Traveling Troubadours Songwriters Round

Summerville, SC – April 2025 — On Thursday, May 1 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, the Community Music Collective presents the Traveling Troubadours Songwriters Round at Public Works Art Center, located at 135 W Richardson Avenue in downtown Summerville, SC.

This intimate concert experience brings together three exceptional artists—Stephen Clair, Elise Testone, and Dan Riley—for an evening of storytelling and song in a traditional “songwriters round” format. Each artist will share their original music and the stories behind the songs, creating a deeply personal and memorable night of live performance.

  • Stephen Clair, a fixture in the indie-Americana scene, is known for his wry wit, sharp guitar work, and emotionally rich songwriting. With praise from American Songwriter and Glide Magazine, his latest album, The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life, offers raw, stripped-down performances that put every lyric and note under the spotlight.

  • Elise Testone, best known as a top 6 finalist on American Idol, brings powerhouse vocals and genre-defying energy to every performance. From soulful ballads to high-octane funk and rock, Testone’s dynamic stage presence and vocal mastery have earned her national acclaim and performances alongside music legends like B.B. King, Stevie Nicks, and members of Queen and P-Funk.

  • Dan Riley, a Lowcountry native and founder of Community Music Collective, writes songs that feel like Southern stories—gritty, heartfelt, and full of soul. With roots in folk, rock, and Americana, his music captures the spirit of the region and the raw beauty of everyday life.

Guests will enjoy a warm, welcoming atmosphere with beverages and light snacks served. The event is open to the public, but advance registration is encouraged through the link found in Community Music Collective’s Instagram bio.

The Traveling Troubadours Songwriters Round is part of Community Music Collective’s ongoing mission to foster human connection through music, education, and community events. This is more than a concert—it’s an opportunity to experience the magic that happens when great songs meet real stories and a room full of neighbors.
